Pattern, 48 × 50 cells, made on Chromattice.
Rib, here warp-faced: warp rep. The warp is set so close that it hides the weft, and thick and thin picks take turns, so the end lifted over the thick pick makes a raised rib. Runners and hard-wearing mats. Threaded 1-3-2-4, tar and natural ends in turn, so shafts 1 and 2 carry the tar and 3 and 4 the natural. Treadle 1 lifts 1-2, treadle 2 lifts 3-4. Thick on 1, thin on 2: tar ribs. Two thin picks together and the colours change places. Sett: very dense. 3/2 pearl cotton at 30 ends an inch, the warp-rep rug sett Handwoven found most common. Beaten to about 12 picks an inch, thick and thin together. The drawdown can't hide a weft, so each pick is coloured as the ends that cover it. Checked against Fibraquarelle's warp rep (threaded 1-3-2-4, thick and thin, two thin picks to change colour): https://blog.fibraquarelle.com/2019/05/12/warp-rep.html and https://handwovenmagazine.com/yarns-and-setts-for-rep-weave/
