Square-grid pattern, 56 × 78 cells, made on Chromattice.
Spot Bronson, also called Atwater-Bronson or spot weave: plain weave with small spots, weft floats over five ends on one face and warp floats on the other. Gist Yarn calls the warp-float side the right side; this draft is drawn weft-float side up. Block A 1-3-1-3-1-2, block B 1-4-1-4-1-2, in turn, with a plain 1-2 border. Plain weave is 1 against 2-3-4. For a spot, lift all the pattern shafts but its own: 2-4 for A, 2-3 for B. Six picks a spot (1, spot, 1, spot, 1, 2-3-4). Sett: a lace, so plain-weave sett. 8/2 cotton at 20 ends an inch (Jane Stafford: 16-20; Gist's sample, in a wool of the same grist, was also 20), and 20 picks. Checked against Gist Yarn's lace part two (threading, right side) and Marcy Petrini (on a rising loom, lift all the pattern shafts except the one to be covered): https://www.gistyarn.com/blogs/how-to-weave/lace-weaving-part-two-bronson-and-swedish-lace and https://janestaffordtextiles.com/products/8-2-cotton-1
