Square-grid pattern, 48 × 48 cells, made on Chromattice.
Goose eye, gåsöga: a 2/2 twill with a herringbone in the threading and the same herringbone in the treadling. The break at each reversal gives a quartered diamond that reflects and repeats. Threaded in sections of twelve: 1-2-3-4 three times, then a clean break and 2-1-4-3 three times, twice across. The 2/2 tie-up (1-2, 2-3, 3-4, 4-1), treadled as drawn in: twelve picks up, a break, twelve down. Madder warp, natural weft. The motif shows best in contrast. Sett: 8/2 cotton at 24 ends an inch, the twill sett on Schacht's chart, beaten to 24 picks. Twelve at 24 an inch makes eyes an inch square. Change the size by changing the ends and picks between the breaks. Tip: the break keeps every float to two. Checked against Weaving Space's goose eye ("a vertical herringbone (created in the threading) … combined with a horizontal herringbone (created in the liftplan)", 12 ends a section): https://weavingspace.co.uk/goose-eye/ and https://schachtspindle.com/pages/sett-chart
