Square-grid pattern, 49 × 48 cells, made on Chromattice.
Point twill, the herringbone family: the threading climbs and comes back down, so the twill line turns at every point and the cloth zigzags. That's the vertical herringbone of coats and suiting, which some call chevron. Threaded to a point, 1-2-3-4-3-2, eight times, with a last end on 1 to balance. The 2/2 twill tie-up (1-2, 2-3, 3-4, 4-1), treadled straight, 1-2-3-4. Tar warp, undyed grey weft, like a tweed. Sett: 2/8 worsted wool at 14 ends an inch, inside the 12-15 Schacht's chart gives for twill, and 14 picks. Tip: the turning ends float a little longer, three instead of two. Keep the points at even intervals, and use a floating selvedge. Checked against Handwoven's twill glossary (herringbone "threaded to a point (e.g., 1, 2, 3, 4, 3, 2, 1); treadled straight (e.g., 1, 2, 3, 4)"): https://handwovenmagazine.com/twills-handwoven-archives/ and https://schachtspindle.com/pages/sett-chart
