Pattern, 48 × 117 cells, made on Chromattice.
Krokbragd: a weft-faced boundweave on a three-shaft point. The treadling never changes, so the pattern comes only from the order of colours in each three-pick row. Rugs, mats, seat covers. My home ground. On four shafts: a straight 1-2-3-4 threading, shafts 2 and 4 tied to work as one, which makes the same 1-2-3-2 point. Three treadles, rising: a = 2-3-4, b = 1-3, c = 1-2-4, treadled a, b, c, always. Tar, madder and tar crossed, madder, birch, natural white to the middle, and back. Sett: very open, so the weft packs in and covers. Carpet warp at 8 ends an inch, the bottom of the 8 or 10 Handwoven suggests for boundweave. In rug wool, about 30 picks an inch, ten rows. Drawn weft-faced, the warp hidden. Tip: weave with floating selvedges.
