Wide-cell pattern, 117 × 208 cells, made on Chromattice.
Crackle: a four-block weave from a little three-shaft point twill, blocks overlapping at the edges for a cracked, mosaic look. No float is longer than three. Blocks A 1-2-3-2, B 2-3-4-3, C 3-4-1-4, D 4-1-2-1, two units each, A to D and back, each closed by its first thread. Rising: 3-4, 1-4, 1-2, 2-3, tabby 1-3, 2-4. Overshot manner: A on 1-4, B 1-2, C 2-3, D 3-4, four pattern picks a unit so the blocks square up, a tabby after every pattern pick. Sett: Snyder recommends a 10/2 warp at 24 ends an inch (Leigh wove hers at 20 on a loom already warped). Tabby beaten balanced, 24 picks; with pattern picks, 48. Indigo wool pattern weft, heavier. Checked against Gather Textiles (threadings, transitions, 2/2 tie-up) and Leigh's Fiber Journal (overshot manner, sett): https://gathertextiles.com/blogs/gather-textiles-project-blog/crackle-weave https://leighsfiberjournal.blogspot.com/2024/11/crackle-manners-of-weaving-honeycomb.html
