Square-grid pattern, 64 × 64 cells, made on Chromattice.
Plain weave, tabby: every pick over one end and under the next, for towels, linings and the ground of half the structures in this series. Threaded straight, 1-2-3-4, and woven on two sheds, shafts 1 and 3 together, then 2 and 4. Warp and weft are both striped eight natural, eight indigo, so the crossings make a check: solid indigo where indigo meets indigo, natural where natural meets natural, and a half-tone where a stripe of one colour crosses a stripe of the other. Sett: 8/2 cotton at 20 ends an inch, the firm end of the 16-20 Jane Stafford gives for plain weave. Weave square: 20 picks to the inch, or the checks come out as bricks. Checked against Jane Stafford's help page on four treadles (lift 1 and 3, then 2 and 4, "now you are weaving plain weave"): https://help.janestaffordtextiles.com/article/173-loom-with-only-four-treadles-and-four-tie-ups and, for the sett, https://janestaffordtextiles.com/products/8-2-cotton-1
